A downloadable project for Windows, macOS, and Linux

This software application is being developed as part of an undergraduate research project conducted by a student at BIMM University. It looks into the plausibility of using virtual-reality technology as a tool to create a restorative nature experience, and aims to investigate the role of sound in that experience. It utilizes SteamVR, which supports the Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and others, and has been tested using the Valve Index.

Information for Players:

This research project investigates the role of audio in VR nature experiences. Please feel free to enjoy the relaxing sounds of nature as you take a leisurely stroll through the forest. If you feel unwell at any point, discontinue use of the software immediately.

This is an early-development prototype which will be iterated upon, thus, it is crucial to receive feedback/appraisals relating to audio. Please leave a comment about anything you liked/didn't like, and try to be as specific as possible. Additionally, there is an optional questionnaire available here where you can provide more extensive feedback that will help guide development. Thank you!
